About Hung Vuong Supermarket

Hung Vuong Supermarket is an asian grocery store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 1122 Washington Ave # A, Philadelphia, PA 19147, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as supermarket, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Philadelphia with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Pennsylvania may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–7:40 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Hung Vuong Supermarket at (215) 336-2803; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is hungvuongmarkets.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

With 4.2 out of 5 on Google from 1,713 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for asian grocery stores in Philadelphia. Recent reviews are the best guide.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I’m very disappointed after a recent purchase just last week. Tofu already has mold on it even though expiration date hasn’t passed (says July 18 if you look carefully) and they sold me a seitan that had expired in Jan. The issue with the tofu is likely improper refrigeration during transit, I’m guessing. We brought it straight home and refrigerated it. Photos attached. I’d appreciate a gift card from the store, or replacement of the items if possible. I’m happy to show you the credit card I used since I’m unsure if I still have the receipt, but it was just last week or so. I went to use the tofu tonight and was so disappointed. Then opted to use the seitan instead, and horrified to see expiration date. (Please look carefully to see the expiration printed top of the tofu - I was already opening it when noticed the horrible mold) It seems here from the other reviews that freshness and sanitation could be an ongoing issue. Only a matter of time before sanitation may fine the establishment if this continues. It’s a shame because in the past, I always loved to shop here.

(1). I have been a customer to shop at the Hung Vuong Food Market located at 1122 Washington Ave., Phila., Pa 19147 for yrs including the yrs operated by the previous owner. (2). I like to stipulate the facts that I was so embarrassed, misled, no customer service common courtesy, & treated like a secondary citizen to the public by the Customer Service Rep., & her higher up in the afternoon on Fri., 06/13/2025. (4.) I simply went to the store to request a refund with the paid receipt & the food item itself in good faith to show that the food item was Entirely Molded, & the label indicated to β€œkeep refrigerated”, β€œNo date for the best use on the Label” either. (5.) I was told, face to face, by the said Customer Service staff as it follows: A. No, it’s too long after the food item was bought. Pls see the receipt. B. No, the item should have been stored in the freezer. Pls see the information on the Label. The food item Wasn’t in the freezer in the store when the item was bought by me. C. No Refund! The said higher up stated that the food item could be exchanged this time Only, and No Exchange or Refund if it happens again! D. And the said higher up further stated that it’s OK

We had so much fun exploring Hung Vuong Supermarket. After eating at Pho 75, it was the perfect after lunch stroll to explore all the variety that the supermarket offered. Not only were there fruits and vegetables that I have never seen in my life, there were a huge variety of seafood and meat offerings as well. Even the prepacked foods were fun. I highly recommend taking a stroll through Hung Voung Supermarket. Try something new and soak up the variety!

Good place for shopping food, fresh, good prices and a lot of choices! But there is something that I can not understand. Today I carry my own shopping bag with me because I not want to used plastic bags . I the guy who sit at the door to enter market stop me and ask me have to leave me empty shopping bag at his table if I wanna shopping inside?! Check in my empty without any number or something for later I check out my bag ?! I saw a lot of people that carry they back bag handbags... and I can carry empty one ?! Do they think I come here to steal a lemon or a chilly pepper? Or those people if they bad they can’t steal something and put it in their bags? Or because they races me? Don’t take me wrong, I like to shopping here a lot but I hope that whoever in charge see this review and make thing better for everyone every shopper feel comfortable to shopping here!
